The money saving expert said people could be owed hundreds of thousands of pounds
The money saving expert told his fans on Instagram if they have an outstanding student loan they could claim some cash back after being overcharged. He said over one million people have overpaid on their student loan during the last tax year for a variety of different reasons.
"And that adds on top of millions who've overpaid in previous years. And as there's no back-date to how far back you can reclaim, there are a lot of people out there who may be due money." He added: "You only have to repay if you earn over £27,295. Let's take a twelfth of that, the sort of monthly average amount, and you get £2,274. "
He added: "In the event that you paid too much in individual months, but you earned over the threshold for repaying in a year, you can't claim back...this is only for people who, in total, earned under the threshold in a year."
