It’s that time of year again, when the temperature falls and the days get shorter - meaning many Brits will be flipping light switches on and turning on radiators for the first time in months. It can be tricky to know what’s most cost-effective when trying to heat homes, including whether homeowners should keep the heating on constantly, or only use it when necessary.
"They're clear that having the heating on only when you need it is, in the long run, the best way to save energy, and therefore money. A timer's best, as your thermostat turns your heating on and off to keep your home at the temperature you set. They added additional advice to people who are still keen to keep their heating running all day. On the website, the team said: "Some argue you should keep the heating on constantly for an entirely different reason.
