The victim was shot and wounded after jumping out of a car and trying to run away, police say.

The 34-year-old victim tells police he was on the 300 block of East South Street in South Akron when he was approached by the suspect, who offered to sell him some marijuana. The suspect got into the victim’s vehicle, a Kia Optima, then pointed a handgun at the victim. The victim was taken to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center. His wounds are not life-threatening, police say.
