The film has reportedly found a studio to back it up along with its writing-directing team.Video games are the new go-to content gold mine for Hollywood as they continue to take the industry by storm. From TV shows including The Last of Us, Halo, and others, to films such as Uncharted and the upcoming Borderlands movie, Hollywood is swarmed with live-action video game content.
Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee will also produce The Sims movie while the company behind its game series, Electronic Arts, will add creative input to it. The cast of the video game-based Sims movie has not been announced yet. It is also not confirmed whether Robbie will also be starring in the film.
However, director Kate Herron, who is attached to a few of The Last of Us Season 2 episodes, and also directed some episodes of Daybreak and Sex Education, will team up with writer Briony Redman.
