Uefa has maintained its ban on clubs under the same ownership competing against each other, which could result in Manchester United being barred from European competitions next season. The ban remains in place even if the clubs are in different competitions. PSG's recent decline in Ligue 1 could further complicate United's situation. The Glazer family, who own United, recently sold shares to Ineos group, owned by billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who will now oversee the club's football operations.

Manchester United face being BARRED from Europe next season after Uefa stuck to their ban on clubs under the same ownership competing against each other. While clubs under the same ownership umbrella CAN play in Europe if they are in different competitions, the ban on clubs taking part in the SAME one remains in place. PSG 's recent slump in France's Ligue 1 could end up preventing United from playing in ANY competition next season.

PSG is owned by Qatar Sports Investments, which is also the majority shareholder of the Qatar Investment Authority, the sovereign wealth fund that owns PSG. Manchester United is owned by the Glazer family, who also own the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Ineos group, owned by petrochemicals billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, recently bought shares from the Glazers and confirmed that he would be delegated responsibility for the management of United's football operations
