Manchester City made short work of going back to the top of the Women’s Super League table, winning 5-0 against West Ham United to establish a three-point lead over Chelsea and, crucially, a superior goal difference. It took City 23 seconds to open the scoring as Spanish full-back Leila Ouahabi scored her first goal for the club. Then, 150 seconds later, it was 2-0 as Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw had time to chest down Lauren Hemp’s cross before finishing on the turn.
Robert Vilahamn’s team lost 4-0 to United in the reverse fixture but Spurs have got progressively better this season. He will hope they can take that a step further when they get to Wembley.
