The city's markets beat competition from big players including Edinburgh and London, but failed to make the number one spot
Manchester’s Christmas Markets have been ranked as the second best in the UK according to a new study. The city was pipped to the post by Birmingham, but managed to beat the likes of Edinburgh, York and London in the list.
However in terms of Instagram mentions, Manchester’s 8,400 was dwarfed by Birmingham's figure - 20,300 mentions. Birmingham achieved a score of 8.59, while Nottingham came third with a score of 6.67. Manchester has actually dropped down the rankings, after it was named the best in last year’s study.
