The Jane Eyre in Ancoats is helping out a homeless charity
The Jane Eyre has launched a food drive to help out Manchester-based homeless charity The Mustard Tree. Anyone who donates three items to the charity's food bank, will be rewarded with a free pint.
"URGENT HELP NEEDED! Bring us three items and get yourself a free pint on us," the bar posted on Instagram."As you may have heard by now, The Mustard Tree food bank in Ancoats is struggling desperately with the demand for food.
The post came with a list of donations the charity was looking for, including tinned meat, veg and fruit and packets and cartons. It follows a similar campaign by the bar which collected donations for Manchester Central Foodbank in the build up to Christmas. General manager Natasha Lynskey decided to launch another food drive after Mustard Tree asked bars in Cutting Room Square for donations. She said the offer of a free pint in return for donations, which started on Friday , will be in place 'indefinitely'."Quite a few people have been bringing stuff in and not wanting anything in return. It just brings together the community.
"Over Christmas it was amazing to see so many people bringing stuff in. We're having the same sort of thing now."
