The European, World Cup and Women's Super League Golden Glove winner is deservedly up for yet another accolade following her form for Man United
Manchester United and Lioness goalkeeper Mary Earps has been nominated for the 2023 Women’s Footballer of the Year award. The FIFA Best shot-stopper sits alongside top international talent Aitana Bonmati of Spain, Australia’s Sam Kerr, Alexandra Popp of Germany and Sweden’s Fridolina Rolfo in contention for the BBC Accolade.
She also took the 2023 Women’s World Cup Golden Glove accolade to accompany the runners-up silverware having lost 1-0 to Spain in the final. A scoreline that could've been heavier but Earps denied Jenni Hermoso’s penalty with a spectacular dive, covering England’s bottom right corner. That save re-injected life back into the England side for the remaining 20 minutes.
In reply, Earps designed and sold her own t-shirts with the slogan ‘Be unapologetically yourself’ advertising them only on social media platforms. The flurry of orders and interest sold out in seconds and the traffic broke her website momentarily.
