Kobbie Mainoo has enjoyed a whirlwind 48 hours after earning his first senior England call-up, with the Man United starlet now targeting a spot in the Euro 2024 squad
Manchester United's young star, Kobbie Mainoo, has his sights set on earning a spot in England's Euro 2024 squad. This comes as the teenager's rapid rise to the senior team continues, with his first call-up already under his belt.
At first, he was named in the under-21s team. But after United's thrilling 4-3 FA Cup quarter-final win against Liverpool, he was moved up to the senior squad for friendly matches against Brazil and Belgium. When he called his family in Stockport to tell them the good news, they were "buzzing". And so, Mainoo's rapid rise continues.
"Yeah, I think that's the end goal for the season, to get into that squad," Mainoo mentioned. "But obviously I've got to focus on club football in the meantime, and hopefully that'll figure itself out." Mainoo is thrilled about this "amazing opportunity" with England and spoke proudly of his Ghanaian roots through his parents.
