A SUSPECT will stand trial accused of murdering a man by running him over.
Michael Day, 23, allegedly assaulted pedestrian Thomas Bowers, 33, in Glasgow's Springburn on April 14, 2023.
Court papers state Day drove a Vauxhall Astra onto the pavement on Petershill Road and drove the vehicle at him.Day is claimed to have then repeatedly driven the vehicle at him and struck him on the body.It is stated that Day assaulted pedestrian Stephen Byrne by driving the car onto the pavement and struck him on the body with it.Another charge claims that Day attempted to pervert the course of justice between April 14 and 17, 2023.
He is also claimed to have intimidated a John Evans who was likely to be a witness by uttering threats and brandishing a knife towards him.It is claimed that he repeatedly punched and kicked him on the head and body as well as struck his head with a knife to his injury.The charges span between January 2019 and April 2023 at the same flat as the alleged assault on Mr Vandabona.
