The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed their trauma team was at the scene of the incident on Fernhill Road in Rutherglen.
Officers from Police Scotland and paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance Service raced to the scene on Hill Road at around 3.30pm and they remain there while a probe is launched.
“Officers are following positive lines of enquiry and a police presence will remain in the area as the investigation continues.
