Police said an argument took place before man was shot in the hip just before midnight Wednesday.
Jenna Wise | [email protected] police officers found the man just before midnight Wednesday on the first block of York Street. He was bleeding from a gunshot wound from his hip and was taken to a York-area hospital for treatment, police said.
Police said the man told investigators he was shot on Racehorse Alley, behind the first block of York Street. The shooter approached and the pair argued before multiple shots were fired, with at least one bullet hitting the victim. The suspect is a man in his mid to late 30s, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall; with a thin build, droopy eyes, and closely-shaven hair, police said. He was reportedly wearing dark jeans and a sweatshirt with the hood pulled up.
Gettysburg Borough, Cumberland Township and Eastern Adams Regional police searched the area for the shooter, but he was not found. Anyone who witnessed the shooting or has information is asked to call Gettysburg Borough police at 717-334-8101.
