A man has been seriously hurt after being attacked on Wilmslow Road. Police were called to the busy main road in Withington in the early hours.
Greater Manchester Police said a man in his 20s suffered serious head injuries. He was remains in hospital.In a statement, the force said: "Just before 1.30am this morning , police were called to a report of an assault on Wilmslow Road, Manchester. Officers attended and located a man in his 20s with head injuries.READ MORE: The top stories across the M.E.N. today
"He was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition. An investigation is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and to locate any offenders. "Detectives are currently following up a number of lines of enquiry. Anyone who witnessed this incident, has any CCTV or dashcam footage or anyone with information, is asked to contact police on 0161 856 6063 quoting log 290 of 5 November 2023.
