A 40-year-old man was arrested for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The police said they received a report on Oct 30, 2022, at about 6.46pm that a woman was molested by an unknown man at 1 Raffles Boulevard. Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from CCTVs, officers from Central Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on Jan 27, 2023. Investigations are ongoing.

The man was to be charged in court on Jan 28 with outrage of modesty, which carries an imprisonment term of up to three years, caning, a fine, or any combination of such punishments. The police have zero tolerance towards sexual offenders who threaten the personal safety of the community. Offenders will be dealt with in accordance with the law.The police would also like to urge members of the public to remain vigilant and to report the matter to the police immediately, if they witnessed an incident of outrage of modesty, or are aware of someone being a victim of outrage of modesty.
