A love triangle led to a man’s shooting death on Wednesday and the Bexar County Medical Examiner has identified him.The shooter, a 37-year-old man, was arrested on a murder charge. At last check, his identity hasn’t been released.San Antonio police say they believe a fatal shooting on the Southeast Side was the result of a love triangle, one that involves both the suspect and the victim.
The shooting happened around midnight outside a home in the 2200 block of Dollarhide Avenue, not far from Pecan Valley Drive and Interstate 37. According to police, a man and a woman were at home when another man showed up and a fight broke out in their backyard. That’s when, police say, the fight eventually moved to the front yard and one of the men pulled out a gun and shot the other. The victim, 36, was pronounced dead at the scene.Family members of the gunman were later able to assist officers in having the man surrender. The suspect was safely taken into custody minutes after the shooting, police said.
A preliminary police report said the shooting likely stemmed from a love triangle, one that involves both the suspect and the victim.SAPD also did not disclose the name of the 37-year-old man taken into custody. He has been charged with murder. The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all responded to the call.About the Author:
