Darren Norman Patterson was seen acting aggressively towards passers-by before attacking victim
A 40-year old Co Antrim man was jailed for six months on Tuesday for an unprovoked attack which left his victim with multiple fractures.
Patterson admitted a charge of grievous bodily harm which he committed on the evening of August 29, 2022 and his sentence was divided equally between jail and licence. Belfast Crown Court was shown CCTV of the incident which occurred at Donegall Street in Belfast. The injured party sustained multiple injuries including fractures to his wrist and shinbone as well as a facial laceration. A Crown barrister described the attack as “completely unprovoked” and one “preceded by aggressive behaviour” towards others.
