The arrest was part of Merseyside Police's ongoing work to tackle county lines and organised crime
On Wednesday, Novembr 8, officers on patrol witnessed the suspected drug deal in Whetstone Lane. Following this, a man was detained on nearby Oliver Street.
Following a search, the man was found in possession of more than 200 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin. The 29-year-old was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs . “If you have any concerns about drugs in your community, please come forward, either directly or anonymously and we will take action to make our streets safer.” Since 2019, Project Medusa officers have closed 1,101 county lines; arrested 2,421 people for various offences including drug supply, firearms offences and money laundering; and identified 1,256 vulnerable adults and children who have been referred to safeguarding services.
