A man received a combined 180 years in prison Wednesday after being found guilty in a fatal gang-related stabbing outside a bar in Sansom Park, the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office announced.
The attorney’s office said McCurdy received 50 years each for murder and engaging in organized criminal activity and 20 years each for two charges of engaging in organized criminal activity and two charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. District Judge Elizabeth Beach issued the sentences, which will run concurrently.
Johnson’s younger sister, Natalie, told McCurdy after the sentencing that she will never forgive him for taking away her brother, who was her best friend, the office said.
