Man fatally shot in East Oakland Saturday night.
OAKLAND — A 37-year-old man was fatally shot Saturday night in East Oakland, authorities said.The shooting happened about 10:05 p.m. Saturday outside in the 3000 block of 23rd Avenue. The man is believed to live in the area.A motive for the shooting is under investigation by police. No arrests have been announced.
The killing is the 58th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. The California Highway Patrol has also investigated four homicides on city freeways. Last year at this time Oakland police had investigated 72 homicides in the city. Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the shooter.
