Desmond Deandre Thompson, 40, now faces a charge of injury to child under 15 years old for an incident that happened back in July. The Houston Police Department confirmed to ABC13 that the injured child is Thompson's baby, between 6 and 10 months old.According to HPD, the child's mother said Thompson put the baby in a dumpster behind a business in the 9800 block of Bissonnet Street. Thompson reportedly told the mother that she was not going to find the baby, but she eventually did.
The next day, on July 5, HPD said officers were called to an apartment in the 10300 block of South Wilcrest at about 12:55 p.m. A witness told police they heard a child screaming, and a bystander found the baby stuck in an iron fence at the complex. HPD said the child was safely extracted and was taken by a woman to her apartment. The baby was later taken to Texas Children's Hospital to be checked out, and Child Protective Services was informed, authorities said.
Another charge was filed against Thompson on July 5 after he allegedly hit his 33-year-old wife while she was holding their baby in her arms, documents say.In August, he was charged with kidnapping under the same case with the Houston Police Department.He also has a number of other outstanding charges, including DWI and suspended license.Related Topics
