Manchester City will have a new face overseeing their women's team as a key member of academy staff is moving over

Charlotte O'Neill will be the new managing director of Manchester City Women, taking over from Gavin Makel.

O'Neill has been a lynchpin in the academy as head of operations and development and has stepped up this season as interim director, filling the gap between Jason Wilcox leaving for Southampton and Thomas Krucken. She will start her new position at the beginning of next month, with Gareth Taylor hoping to continue the fine start to the season from the women's team that sees them early leaders in the Women's Super League.

“He has not only ensured that our Club has remained at the forefront of the women’s game in this country since its relaunch in January 2014, but his role on the FA Women's Super League and Women’s Championship Board has also been invaluable to the wider sport.
