A man from Skokie has been charged with making bomb threats against Aurora Public Library District buildings last month, according to Aurora police.
Jacob Spiro, 23, of the 4600 block of Davis Street, has been charged by the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office with two counts of felony disorderly conduct - false bomb threats in connection with the incidents, officials said. On Sept. 12 and 14, the Aurora Public Library District buildings at 101 S. River St., 233 S. Constitution Drive and 555 S. Eola Road were evacuated and searched by police after the district received bomb threats, police said. No devices were found in the buildings.
Spiro was arrested Monday in Niles by Niles police with the assistance of Morton Grove police and the FBI Joint Terrorist Task Force, police in those towns said in statements. Spiro was arrested in connection to bomb threat calls made to the Wendy’s at 8309 Golf Road in Niles on Oct. 9 and Notre Dame High School in Niles on Sept. 29, according to the Niles Police Department. Other locations have also been identified but remain under investigation.
