Denzel Perkins was charged in connection to the death of Paul Vasquez, who was shot in June while sleeping in his bed at a home on McNair Street.
Vasquez was fatally shot while he was sleeping his home on McNair Street, according to the sheriff's office.
On the night of the shooting, a gunman fired multiple rounds into the house, officials said. Vasquez, whose bedroom was near the front of the house, was hit in the chest and ran to his mother. He was taken to Ben Taub Hospital, where he died. His mother and two older brothers were at the home when the shooting occurred.for the killing. It was unclear Tuesday if Perkins was accused of pulling the trigger of the gun that killed Vasquez, or of participating in the drive-by shooting in another way.No other arrests have been announced.
