A MAN has been warned by a sheriff after being caught with a weapon twice.
Louis Gibb, 29, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court last week charged with being in possession of a knuckle duster on August 1, 2023.
The court heard that cops were on patrol on Cathcart Road when they observed a Corsa vehicle. They approached and could smell cannabis.Gibb, whose address was listed as West Sussex, admitted it belonged to him and he was cautioned and charged.Gibb’s lawyer asked the sheriff to impose a punishment that was an alternative to custody.
She replied: “I’m content to do that, but I didn’t like his excuse as to why he had it. I’m prepared to deal with it by supervision and unpaid work.” The sheriff told Gibb: “Whilst you have a limited record, it’s concerning it’s the second reported time you’ve been in possession of a weapon such as this.”
