Kamen Smith battered the man after he had 'the audacity' to stand up for his girlfriend
A convicted drug dealer sexually assaulted a woman as she slept then attacked her boyfriend when he confronted him.
At Liverpool Crown Court today, November 3, prosecutor David Polglase said: " was struggling to come to terms with what the defendant had done, because she had known him for years and had trusted him and allowed him into her home. Her mental health declined, she struggled to sleep, she was having flashbacks and nightmares.
Smith, of Molyneux Drive, Warrington, pleaded guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm and causing criminal damage to the man's car, but denied sexually assaulting the woman. He was found guilty following a trial in September 2023, and appeared in court on a video link from HMP Liverpool, where he is currently serving a 28 month sentence for drug dealing.
