Police have arrested a man in his 40s in relation to the death of Gogglebox star George Gilbey, who died earlier this week. The TV star died aged 40 following a reported accident at his workplace on Wednesday, 28 March.
George was best known for appearing on Channel 4's Gogglebox from 2013 until 2014, appearing on the show alongside his mum Linda and stepdad Pete McGarry. George went onto compete on Celebrity Big Brother alongside Gary Busey, Leslie Jordan, Stephanie Pratt and James Jordan. He came in fourth place, before returning to Gogglebox for two years in 2016.
"The ambulance service including air ambulance were in attendance. Sadly, the man died at the scene. We will continue liaising with partners including the Heath and Safety Executive. A cordon remains in place at the scene."
