A 19-year-old woman, believed to be an Indian national who is thought to have arrived in the UK recently, has been stabbed to death. A 23-year-old man who was known to the victim was arrested at the scene in Croydon, south London, on suspicion of murder and taken to hospital after suffering a minor head injury. The Metropolitan Police said officers were called to a home in Ash Tree Way on Sunday afternoon.
A 19-year-old woman was found with stab injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Met said in a statement: 'The woman is believed to be an Indian national who is thought to have arrived in the United Kingdom relatively recently. Officers are working to trace and inform her family.' The force said no one else is being sought in connection with the murder investigation. Police are appealing for witnesses, including anyone who saw or heard a disturbance at the address.
