Man arrested as part of M8 near Glasgow still shut due to fire

We previously reported that the westbound road had been shut at junction 28a since around 3.40am due to vehicle fire.The area remains closed and a diversion is in place for drivers.

Officers confirmed that a full investigation has been launched and that a 36-year-old man was arrested in connection with an alleged road traffic offence.spokesperson said: “Around 2.55am on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, police received a report of a damaged vehicle on fire, on the M8 near junction 29, Paisley."A 36-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.
