An arrest has been made after reports were made of a man being assaulted by another man wielding an axe.
It was reported a man was assaulted, but so far the injured person is yet to come forward and inquiries are ongoing. Police believe it was a targeted attack and that the men are known to each other, reports the Liverpool Echo. A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "At around 1.55pm, armed police were called to Stuart Road to reports of a man in possession of an axe. A man was reportedly assaulted but no injured party has come forward. Inquiries continue.
