Drama unfolded at Buckingham Palace last night as a man crashed into the gates of the Royal residence and was subsequently arrested by armed police and taken into custody
A man has been arrested after crashing his car into the gates of Buckingham Palace - the official Royal residence.
In dramatic footage obtained by The Sun, armed police can be seen surrounding the suspect, who is on his knees after getting out of the vehicle, as cops shout "keep your hands on your head!" The man crashed into the gates of Buckingham Palace in Westminster, London, at around 2.30am on March 10.A spokesperson for the force said: "At approximately 2.30am on Saturday, 09 March a car collided with the gates of Buckingham Palace.
"Armed officers arrested a man at the scene on suspicion of criminal damage. He was taken to hospital.An onlooker who saw the crash told The Sun: "I heard a loud bang, and I looked over and the car had crashed into Buckingham Palace.Please check back regularly for the latest on this developing story as it is updated in real time here.
