Police have issued an appeal
Officers say they received a report at around 9.15am this morning, that a male armed with a machete had entered a service station on the Antrim Road area and demanded money from staff..
Sergeant Paul Rice from the Reducing Offending Unit in Musgrave added: “A sum of cash was handed over and the male then left the scene on foot. Officers attended immediately and arrested a 26 year old man and seized a number of items at a nearby property."The male has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of an article with blade or point in a public place and remains in custody at this time. There were no reports of any injuries to the staff members of the shop.
"I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed this incident or who may have captured dash-cam footage which could assist us with our enquiries to contact the Reducing Offending Unit in Musgrave on 101, quoting reference number 264 20/01/23.
