Police arrested 58-year-old Mohammed Draz in the front yard of his house.
Officers were called to a house in the 21600 block of Westwood Avenue at 10:18 a.m. for a report of a domestic disturbance. When police arrived, an 18-year-old man living at the home said that his father “had seriously injured his mother,” police said.
Inside the home, officers found 53-year-old Abeer Sehweil unconscious and unresponsive with “obvious life-threatening injuries,” according to police. Firefighters took her to Fairview General Hospital, where she died, police said. The Cuyahoga County medical examiner’s office listed her cause of death as a homicide Thursday morning.
Police arrested 58-year-old Mohammed Draz in the front yard of the house. He is charged with murder in Rocky River Municipal Court. Following the arrest, authorities gained a search warrant to the home.
