Pennsylvania authorities rescued an emaciated horse from an Adams County property this week.
Pennsylvania State Police said they found a mare without sufficient food or water around 11 a.m. Thursday on the 300 block of Sunset Road in Orrtanna. Troopers were investigating an anonymous tip of horse abuse when the animal was found, state police said. State police contacted the Adams County SPCA and a veterinarian, who determined the horse needed immediate care.State police are continuing to investigate. No charges have been filed.
