GEORGE TOWN, Penang: The Malaysian police will take stern action against political parties that touch on issues involving race, religion and royalty - popularly known as 3R - in the upco
Last Tuesday, Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail urged political parties to refrain from campaigning using the 3Rs.
Earlier, Perikatan Nasional chairman Muhyiddin Yassin stressed that the coalition will not touch on 3R issues to garner support in the upcoming state elections. “Our agenda has been very clear. We're not focusing on this . We are focusing on what is often important to the people, especially in this situation now where most voters feel that the present unity government has not done much. In fact, many have said they have failed,” said Muhyiddin.
A recent study found that PAS and its president Abdul Hadi Awang played up racial rhetoric the most during the 15th General Election in November last year.
