Less than 40% think the same of former President Donald Trump, who is just three years younger than Biden.

When asked about the apparent sharpness of each candidate, 62% said Biden lacks the mental fortitude needed to be an effective president. Conversely, 54% said Trump is mentally capable enough for the role. These voters are largely dissatisfied with the job Biden has done so far, with 59% disapproving of his performance. Biden is unfavorable to 57% of voters, and they claim his policies have hurt more often than they helped, with 53% claiming to be negatively impacted by Biden policies. A similar number of these voters report having an unfavorable view of former President Donald Trump.Almost half of respondents said there was “not really any chance” they would vote for Biden in 2024.
The data comes amid a time of increased scrutiny for President Biden.
