The forecast for Philadelphia's annual holiday parade is also shaping up nicely for this time of year, according to weather forecasters.
It will be chilly during the morning hours, when the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade kicks off, but not as frigid as it has been in recent days, when temperatures were running 10 to 15 degrees colder than normal.
The National Weather Service’s New York regional office is calling for morning temperatures hovering around 40 degrees when the big parade gets underway at 9 a.m. Thursday, with a light breeze from the northeast making it feel like it’s 37 degrees. Keep in mind, earlier in the morning, as spectators are making their way to the parade route, it will be even colder. The forecast for 7 a.m. is 36 degrees and the forecast for 8 a.m. is 38 degrees, with the light wind making it feel like it’s 31 to 34 degrees.
By noon, when the parade will be winding down, the mercury is expected to reach about 50 degrees, with mostly sunny skies and a slight breeze making it feel like it’s 47 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
