TRAFFIC on the M8 in Glasgow is facing disruption due to a boat on the motorway.

Cyclist's Parents Fear 'Closure' as Driver Escapes Prison SentenceThe grieving parents of a cyclist killed in a horror lorry crash fear they will never have 'closure' as the driver escaped a prison sentence. Emma Newman died after being knocked down by Paul Mowat in Glasgow city centre on January 27 last year. The driver, 69, had turned at a set of traffic lights before striking the 22-year-old as she cycled in the left hand lane. Emma was then dragged approximately 53 metres after becoming trapped under the vehicle. The Glasgow School of Art architecture student was rushed to hospital but died from her injuries around 90 minutes later. Mowat pleaded guilty to causing Emma's death by careless driving at Glasgow Sheriff Court last month. But at his sentencing hearing this week, he was ordered to do 100 hours of unpaid work and put under supervision for 12 months.
