Delays have hit the M62
Drivers were being warned of delays following the collision on the westbound carriageway between J22 and J21. Pictures from motorway cameras show long queues following the collision just before 9am.
Thousands of football fans are due to descend on the area later this afternoon. Due to the collision earlier today, traffic has been building between junction 21 and junction 22.) following the earlier collision. In an update, travel service Inrix, said: "Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident on M62 Westbound from J22 A672 to J21 A6193 Sir Isaac Newton Way .
