Traffic is being diverted around the incident
Traffic is being diverted via slip roads around junction 21 of the M60 this evening due to a 'police incident'.
The exact nature of the incident is not yet known, however the motorway is closed in both directions, it has been confirmed. The closure was put in place at 9:30pm this evening. Drivers should allow extra time for their journeys, according to Highways North West. A statement from the organisation said: "The M60 in Greater Manchester is closed in both directions within J21 due to an North West Motorway Police led incident. Traffic is being diverted via the exit and entry slip roads. Please allow extra time for your journey."Inrix, a traffic reporting service, is also reporting the incident.
