Police closed the M6 between junctions 27 and 28 due to the incident. There are significant delays and queuing traffic as a result of the closure.
Police have not yet released further details regarding the incident. Police first reported the incident at around 11.40am today .A spokesperson for Lancashire police said: “Please be aware the M6 Motorway is currently closed between Junctions 27 and 28 in both directions due to an ongoing incident. Please avoid the area where possible.”
