Lucas Radebe worked under no fewer than six permanent managers at Leeds United across 11 seasons at Elland Road
Leeds United legend Lucas Radebe has revealed George Graham was the best coach he worked with at Elland Road. Radebe worked under no fewer than six permanent managers at the West Yorkshire club.
The man affectionately known as ‘The Chief’, Radebe went on to make more than 250 appearances for United across 11 seasons. He cost the Whites £250,000 and is arguably one of the best-value transfers in Premier League history. The South African enjoyed success under David O'Leary, with the former Arsenal man famously guiding United to the Champions League semi-finals in the early noughties. But speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, Radebe has discussed the best coach he worked with.He said: “That was George Graham, Do you know what? He’s the best manager I have ever worked under.
Graham cut his time at United short, leaving for Tottenham in 1998. O'Leary replaced Graham in the managerial hotseat, leading United to a top-four finish. They improved to third a year later and the team also reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup in 1999-2000. His United tenure came to an end two years later after they finished fifth.
