The car smashed into Trinity Church, Chalfont Close, Lower Earley and became wedged in the building on Monday afternoon. The couple in the car were treated at a nearby GP surgery before being taken to hospital for further checks, the church said.The surgery said patients were still able to gain access by walking through the car park.
Jon Salmon, Minister at Trinity Church, said: "It has caused serious structural damage to the front entrance but thankfully the couple in the car were able to walk away but were understandably shaken. "The entrance should be made structurally safe today but it will take some time to re-build. This will inevitably impact access to the building."
