Officers were responding to reports of an assault near a store when the shots were fired that killed a 14-year-old girl through the wall of a changing room.
A 14-year-old girl was accidentally shot and killed through a dressing room wall in a store Thursday while Los Angeles police were shooting at a man they suspected of committing assault against another woman, officials announced.
While officers were investigating the scene after the shots were fired, the 14-year-old girl, who has also not been named, was found dead with gunshot wounds in a dressing room. The woman who was the victim of the initial assault was transported to a local hospital with"moderate to serious" injuries to her head, arms and face, according to Choi and Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Nicholas Prange.
