A lorry crashed into the garden wall of a Nottingham house shortly after destroying a lamppost and bollards. Police and fire crews were called to Percy Street, Old Basford, after the lorry hit a lamppost and bollards before mounting the pavement and crashing into a garden wall at around 10.25am on Thursday, November 2.
Nottinghamshire Police said no one was injured by the collision. The street furniture, and the lorry, were substantially damaged during the incident. The force added officers had spoken with the driver, who tested negative for alcohol or drugs. Police inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident, with investigators now appealing for help from the public.PC Pearce Riley, of Nottinghamshire Police’s Roads Policing Unit, said: “This incident happened near to a school mid-morning so we’re thankful no-one was injured.
“To assist us with our ongoing inquiries, we’re particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened, who may have recorded CCTV footage, or who may have been driving along this road and captured dashcam footage. “If you can help, please call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 189 of November 2, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
