Three years after its inception, Lordstown Motors has received approval to send its first batch of all-electric pickup trucks to customers.
LORDSTOWN, Ohio —
“I am very proud of the Lordstown Motors and Foxconn EV Ohio team for their hard work, grit, and tenacity in achieving this milestone,” Lordstown Motors CEO Edward Hightower said in a news release. “We are very excited to start delivering vehicles to our commercial fleet customers.” Executives had said previously that production would ramp up slowly because making the trucks were not yet cost effective, and that more capital investments were needed to bring down costs.
