A Grade C-listed structure, the footbridge was constructed in 1877 and will be fondly remembered by some residents.Another local said:"My son loved going over this bridge and seeing the trains when he was little."In line with plans, the bridge will be replaced with a new structure, for which, works have not started yet.Some residents feel more positive about the development.
One person said:"I think it's a shame that that footbridge is going but I do think that the new bridge they are doing is good.have been communicating the dates and everything really well." As part of the development, a new road bridge has also been built, using clad from the Strathmungo structure. To make way for this, Susie's Store was demolished in August last year.
