Terry Lim had been considering hanging up his chef's hat after thirty years at the helm of the Scouse institution Yuet Ben but his regulars convinced him otherwise
A popular Chinese restaurant and Scouse institution, Yuet Ben will not be shutting its doors just yet as the restaurant's regulars convinced the owner to stay open a bit longer.

The 68-year-old said: "I've come to retirement age and I want to enjoy later life with the grandkids... I'm too tired to train anyone new so I decided to put it up for sale.
"Every meal the Sweeney family have at Yuet Ben; Terry and Theresa come and speak to us at the end of the meal they are fantastic hosts." Terry Sweeney said: " massive hole in our social life when it does close. We've been to other Chinese restaurants but there is nowhere else like it." To convince Terry to stay, some regulars pulled on the heartstrings like Colin Aspinall, who has been visiting the restaurant since the 70s. He said: "We made him feel like we wanted him to stay. It's an institution."
