The Alabama Crimson Tide baseball team plays its final regular-season game of the year against the Auburn Tigers on Saturday evening at Plainsman Park.
Auburn clinched the series victory by winning the first two contests 4-2 on Thursday and 12-11 on Friday, however this is the Tigers final game of the year as the team did not qualify for the 2024 SEC Tournament. The Crimson Tide, on the other hand, will play in the tournament next week which starts on Tuesday, but is looking to enter Hoover with momentum.
Alabama right-handed pitcher Ben Hess will start on the mound. The junior, who has had an inconsistent season, is coming off his best outing of the year against LSU where he allowed one earned run on three hits in 6.2 innings of work as well as tied both his season and career-best strikeouts with ten.
For Auburn, right-handed pitcher Christian Herberholz will start on the mound. In his 38.2 innings pitched, the redshirt senior has allowed 43 hits, 23 runs , walked 13 batters, and struck out 46.Although there is inclement weather projected in the forecast, first pitch is set to be on time at 5:02 p.m. CT.Games one and two of the series will be on SEC Network+, while Saturday's finale gets national television treatment on the SEC Network.
First pitch of the series is set for 6 p.m. Thursday, which doubles as Auburn's Senior Day.
