Police have taped off part of Darwen town centre with a huge emergency service presence at the scene.
It has been reported that a cordon is in place in Railway Road, near to the market square. The road has been taped off between Wetherspoons and the A666 since about 2pm, according to eyewitnesses.Our reporter Amy Fenton is currently at the scene in Darwen town centre. An eyewitness has told her that police have been at the scene "for over an hour now".
